Mangalore, Nov 2: The Mogaveera community needs to make more political and social contributions. The number of the members in the community who take political lead is mere drop in the ocean. Though the community is a significant community in the locality, the number of political figures in the community is lesser, opined K Raju Mogaveera, thasildar, Mangalore taluk.

He was delivering the inaugural address at the felicitation function organized by the Mogaveera Vyavasthapaka Mandali held at Shri Mariyamma Temple, Urwa here to felicitate newly-elected corporators and councilors here on Friday November 2.

Each and every member of the community must support the work initiated by the serious minded members of the community, he said. This will help them to lead the community in a better way, he added.

Many of the newly-elected corporators and councillors of the community are youngsters; this indicates that community members and general public at large do expect more from the newly-elected corporators and councillors. The elected corporators and councillors must work hard and not shatter the belief and play decisive role in the overall development of the society, he suggested.

Revathi K Puthran, Santhosh Kumar Baikampady, Yashavanth Meenakaliya, Shakunthala D Karkera, Ganesh Hosabettu, Sarojini Kotian, Meenakshi Bangera, Yashpal Suvarna, Vijaya Kunder, Pradeep Kunder, the newly-elected corporators and councillors were felicitated on the occasion.

Yashwanth Bolur compered the programme and Lakshman Bengre welcomed the gathering.
