M'lore: Western Range Sports Meet of Home Guards Inaugurated

Mangalore, Nov 2: Western range-level sports meet for home guards was inaugurated by AM Prasad IGP (Western Range) at District Police Ground, Pandeshwara here on Friday November 2. 

Home guards from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Chikkamagalur districts are participating in the event. Parade of home guards during the inaugural ceremony was the chief attraction. 

The Uttar Kannada home guards team won the women's four hundred meter relay on the day and the home guard team from Udupi district registered win over other participated home guard teams in the men's four hundred meter relay. 

Dr Shivaprasad Rai, District Commandant of the Home Guards was present on the occasion.
