Udupi: ‘Ekata’s Colourful Diwali Celebrations attract Many

Udupi, Nov 10: ‘Ekata,’ a social service organization celebrated Diwali festival at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Auditorium here on Thursday November 8. The members of various communities were present on this occasion.

S R Arun, principal of MGM College was the chief guest on this occasion. Speaking on this occasion, he explained the features of Diwali, especially celebrated in the coastal region of Karnataka.

Folklore expert Bannanje Babu Amin explained the importance of Diwali in folklore and Vasudev Bhat explained the references of the Festival in ancient scriptures and mythology.

Tulsi puja, Balindra Puja, deeparadhane, firecrackers show was held followed by dinner after the stage programme.

Jayakar Shetty Indrali, convener of Ekata, Ishwar Shetty Indrali, Manohar Shetty, Manjula Vishnuprasad and others were present on the dais.

Dr Gananat Shetty Yekkar compered the programme.
