Mangalore: Environmental Public Hearing on MSEZ to be Held

Mangalore, Nov 10: Environmental public hearing will be conducted, as per the MoEF, GOI letter dated July 13 and request of the project proponent dated October 10, by the Karnataka state pollution control board on at assembly hall of St Joseph Church Bajpe, near here Wednesday November 28 at 11 am.

The meeting will be conducted under the chairmanship of district commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district.

Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) limited has proposed to develop SEZ project in an area of 3,985 acres consisting of phase I and phase II projects and ailed infrastructure facilities at Permude, Bajpe, Kalavaru, Thokur, Tenka Yekkar, Kuthethuir, Delanthabettu and Bala villages.

The project has to obtain environmental clearance from MoEF, GOI as per the EIA notification dated September 14 2006 and is required to go through environmental public hearing.

Interested public can participate in the public hearing. Any suggestions, views, comments and objections regarding proposed project are accepted.
