Mangalore, Nov 11:  Children must learn to appreciate themselves, as they might later face situations (in life) where they may not get enough emotional support from their kith and kin, from whom they expect the most, advised Mavis Rodrigues president of Yore Future at the Town Hall here, on Saturday November 10.
 
Rodrigues was speaking at the Samprada children's festival organized by Diamond Multi-purpose Society and Celebrations Event Management Company.
 
Children need to build on their confidence. Standing before the mirror and believing in them selves that they are on the right path to success and that they are improving day by day, this would yield better results, she remarked.

According to Rodrigues there is a need for proper guidance and encouragement towards the overall development of children.

Moreover, she exhorted youngsters that they should plan on how to utilize their time productively, identifying their talents. Providing opportunities to prove their talent is a good attempt, she said.

“Believing in God also boosts their preparation”, she articulated further.
 
“Children are the stars of the future days and they should work hard in the childhood days” and “Children should not have fear of crowd, rather they should learn to face it”, were some pearls of gem for children spoken by P Manoharan, charitable trust manager, NFB Roman and Catholic Lobo school for the blind in his inaugural address.
 
Sam Pinto, organizer welcomed the gathering and convenor Pradeep D'Souza proposed vote of thanks.   Also on the occasion were presented various competitions for children like rhymes, story-telling, dance, drawing and fancy dress, followed by prize distribution.
