Bangalore, Nov 11 (mb): The stage is set for the BJP-JDS coalition government in Karnataka to assume office when B S Yeddyurappa will be sworn in as the BJP's first chief minister in South India on Monday.

A nominee chosen by JDS will be sworn-in as deputy Chief Minister along with Yeddyurappa, marking the re-installation of the combine's ministry after a gap of one month, ending the President's rule in the state.

The authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony, to be held on the portals of majestic Vidhana Soudha, the state secretariat.

The event, a historic one for the BJP as it will be leading its maiden government in the Southern region, will be witnessed by thousands of workers of the coalition partners.

Police have made tight security arrangements at the venue to ensure a trouble free swearing-in function.

Sources in the BJP and JDS said a two-member ministry will assume office on Monday and the ministry would be expanded after facing a floor test.

The JDS is holding its Legislature party meeting on Sunday to decide on the Deputy Chief Ministerial candidate. Senior leader M P Prakash, who raised voice against the reunion of BJP-JDS combine is also expected to attend the function.

Senior BJP leader Yashwant Singh, who is in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka, will arrive here later in the day and participate in the Legislature Party meet.

Chief Minister designate Yeddyurappa has gone to Yediyur, about 50 kms away from here, to offer worship at the Yediyur Siddalingeshwara temple and will be back among the thick of actions later on Sunday.

Karnataka: May it not be another 'Collision' Government !
