Mangalore, Jan 5: Karnataka Bank Limited (KBL) will soon be having a new general manager with effect from Tuesday January 8. Jairama Hande P, the deputy general manager of KBL, has been promoted as general manager, informed a press release here on Friday January 4.
 
Giving a brief history about Hande's tenure at KBL, the release from the planning and development department of the bank stated that Hande joined the bank in 1976 at the Tiptur branch.
 
He has served the bank in various capacities before heading the Bangalore Jayanagar- IV block, Nehrunagar and Kasturba road branches.
 
In 1994, he was promoted to the executive cadre as chief manager and he worked at the head office and Bangalore regional office.
 
Hande then even went on to take charge of the Fort-Mumbai branch. He was even promoted as assistant general manager in 1998. 
 
At the head office from 1999, he headed the treasury and accounts section and then later went on to become the deputy general manager of the bank in 2001.
