Bangalore: Police Nab 'Police'

Deccan Herald

Bangalore, Jan 6: An alleged impostor, who duped people by posing as a policeman, was trapped by the police on Friday in Wilson Garden.

The DCP of Central Division, B N S Reddy told mediapersons on Saturday that Lourdanadhan (39), a resident of Katamma Nallur village near Whitefield in Bangalore, was nabbed on Friday in a ‘police uniform’ and a motorbike carrying registration number (KA 02/G 3747) reserved only for government vehicles.

The vehicle had ‘police’ written on the number plates and also had a ‘Cheetah’ sticker on it to claim that he belonged to Cheetah squad of Bangalore police. He was in a head constable’s uniform and had a helmet with the police monogram.
Among his many ‘operations’, Lourdanadhan extorted money from those who had taken vehicles on bank loans and cheated unemployed youths on the pretext of providing them jobs in reputed organisations like Isro, HAL and ITPL. He operated his swindling business in Bangalore city, KGF, Devanahalli, Doddaballapura and surrounding areas of the city.
