Kundapur, Oct 30: When Sudharma Rath Yatra, which is touring the district to give publicity to 'Dharma Sansad' religious mega convention being held at Srikrishna Math Udupi from November 24 to 26 reached the town on Sunday October 29 afternoon, it was given a rousing reception.

When the Sudharma chariot came to the town accompanied by an impressive motor bike rally from Tallur near here, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Mangaluru division leader, Subrahmanya Holla, received it by  offering flower garland and Arati. Speaking thereafter, he mentioned that Hinduism is backed by a history spanning over thousands of years. "People from various countries came here, settled down here, and then plundered our nation. They also tried to destroy our country. But because of strong patriotic roots of Hindus, none of these evil powers could annihilate our nation. They will fail in their efforts in future too. Aggression by outsiders has been on an increase. Efforts are being made to trample upon a community which provided food and shelter to them. There have also been inner enemies who are trying to destroy the community from inside. Efforts to weaken the society through concepts like Jihad are being undertaken. Therefore, Hindus should stand united and give fillip to social harmony," he felt.

Bajrang Dal district co convener, Gireesh Kundapur, taluk convener, Sudheer Merdi, taluk co convener, Srikant Shetty, convener of the chariot, Dinesh Acharya Kandlur, secretary, Santosh Kundapur, Pradeep Koteshwar, Prasanna Koteshwar, Maruti Koteshwar, Maruti Koteshwar, leaders like Rajesh Kaveri, Shankar Ankadakatte, Diwakar, Sudheer etc were present.
