Mangaluru: Complaints about private buses galore at RTA meet of DK

Mangaluru, Nov 1: Numerous complaints were raised by the public against the owners of private buses in the meeting at district commissioner's office, organized by Dakshina Kannada district Road Transport Authority (RTA) on Tuesday, October 31.

The meeting was presided by Sasikanth Senthil, district commissioner (DC) and president of RTA.

Private bus owners have brought stay to the operation of government buses including Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) service.

Members from the general public said, “Private buses do not adhere to time. We are in a fix as we are not getting proper service from private buses. The government buses are also not plying.” The public urged the DC to make the court understand their plight and resolve the issue.

Kumar, additional DC, Sudhir Kumar Reddy, superintendent of police and G S Hegde, regional transport officer were present on the occasion.
