Bengaluru, Nov 1 (DHNS): JD(S) MLA from HD Kote, Chikkamadu (68), who was hospitalised for multiple organ failure, passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday in Mysuru.
Chikkamadu was being treated in a private hospital in Mysuru for the last few days. He was suffering from kidney problems for the last one year.
Chikkamadu, who entered politics in 1971, jumped from the Congress to the JD(S) in 2007. He also served as an MLC. Chikkamadu leaves behind two wives, Jayamma and Nagamma and four children. The last rites will be performed this afternoon.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, JD(S) leaders H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy have condoled Chikkamadu's death. Both Siddaramaiah and Gowda will be leaving for Mysuru to pay their last respects.
