Udupi: Blood donation camp held at Kaup Govt First Grade College

Udupi, Feb 1: “It is necessary to increase awareness about blood donation in society. Young people should know the need for blood donation and make it known to others. JCI will try to create awareness about blood donation, eye donation and organ donation this year,” said JCI zonal president Rakesh Kunjur.

He was speaking after inaugurating blood donation camp held by national service project of Kaup government First Grade College and Post Graduate Centre, Rangers and Rowers, Red Cross unit, JCI Kaup and blood bank centre of Kaup and Udupi district hospital. The camp was held at Kaup government First Grade College on Wednesday, January 30.



Udupi district hospital blood bank centre’s head Dr Veena Kumari said, “Donation of blood is noble. Every healthy individual can donate blood. A unit of blood received from a person can be given at least to three people to save their lives.”

Kaup JCI president Ramesh Naik presided. Kaup First Grade College Principal Ganesh B, national service project advisory committee member Anil Kumar and Prof Dr Anil Kumar took part as guests.

Kaup government First Grade College history professor Dr Mahesh welcomed the gathering. National service project officer Vidya D gave the introduction. Rangers and Rowers unit convener Vidya K U delivered the vote of thanks.
