Udupi, Feb 1: A person committed suicide by hanging himself from the beam of a cattle shed attached to his house at Suledu within Shirva police station limits on Wednesday January 31.
The person who ended life this way has been identified as Rohit Shetty (42). Rohit Shetty, who was earlier living in Mumbai, had recently shifted base to Suledu where he stayed with his wife as the couple had no children. He was operating a small shop at Pilar. He also worked as spare conductor occasionally for a bus running on Shirva-Udupi route.
On Tuesday evening, he used a nylon rope to hang himself. Shetty's father-in-law filed a complaint thereof at Shirva police station, on the basis of which a case of unnatural death was registered.
