Udupi, Nov 3: A protest programme against terrorism was organized by the youth wing of the Kaup assembly constituency unit of the BJP here, recently.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader Baikady Suprasad Shetty held the Congress party solely responsible for the increasing acts of terrorism in the country. The soft approach of the Congress-led union government towards such activities with an eye on selfish intrests, has been boosting the anti-social elements engaged in undertaking terrorist activities, he said.

Now-a-days, terrorists from the country have gained in strength and creating problems for the nation. The union government is planning to implement the Sachar Committee report, which has resulted in the increasing acts of terrorism. The existing laws are insufficient to rein in the terrorist elements. Muslim youth should stay away from turning into religious bigots and should bring about a transformation in their mindset, he advised.

State youth leader and businessman Belve Vasanth Shetty said that the rising prices of necessities have made the lives of the poor people very difficult. They have to struggle even to get a square meal every day, he said. The union government and the Prime Minister, instead of showing sympathy to the plights of the poor and taking up steps to mitigate their hardships, are whiling away time in pleasing minorities, he criticized.

BJP workers Indira Lalaji Mendon, Vina Gururaj, Prakash Shetty, Muralidhar Pai, Jayanti Indushekar, Shambhavi Kulal, Vasanti Madhwaraj, Jagadish Acharya and Diwakar Shetty Mallar were present.

Yes Mr. Jerome, its your right. We cant just blame the congress but others too. The so-called "UPA partners" too.The SP, RJD, DMK, CPI & other left parties and many more.Only thing they are concerned is vote bank politics. They just want power by hook or crook. Actually we all should stand together to fight any menace of the society be it terrorism, naxalism or any other menace.

One must have the guts of calling spade a spade. If a member of a party shuts his eyes towards burning poor people's houses, gang-raping a woman, barging into religious places and beating assembled worshipers he/she has not right to give his/her comments on who spreads/harbours terrorism.

All the above deeds are done by the members of the very community these speakers represent. Mend your own nook before you point out at others of having one.
