Kundapur: Naxals Visit Devarbal Village

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Nov 4: Continuing with their stepped up activities, naxals visited Devarbal village within Hallihole gram panchayat, on the morning of Monday November 3. Villagers said that the gang of 17 armed naxals was led by Vikram Gowda.

After the June 23, 2005 encounter in the village in which two naxals, Umesh from Moodigere and Ajit Kusabi had died, naxal activity in this village had been almost absent.  The visit of naxals in such a large number has surprised the people of the village.

It is learnt that the naxals who visited houses located at the foot of the ghat, collected details of the progress in the implementation of the naxal package and expressed dissatisfaction about these works.

The Anti-Naxal Force, which has been taken aback by the sudden increase in the naxal visits to villages in the Western Ghats, has geared up its combing operations.
