Hubli, Nov 17: Speaking after inaugurating a workshop organized at the Cotton County Club here on Sunday November 16 for the Congress leaders from Belgaum division, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president R V Deshpande asked the block and district-level presidents of the party either to actively involve with the organizational activities of the party or to pave way for others.

"There is an imminent need for strengthening the party. As such, wherever the local party of the unit is not sufficiently active, new people and the youth will be given opportunity  to show their mettle, by replacing the present leaders," he said. Deshpande also said, he does not want to continue as the KPCC president, if he is unable to discharge the responsibility of achieving the growth of the party in the state. He stressed about the need for the re-organization of blocks and  fresh formation of the present committees at the earliest. "The party strongly believes in collective leadership. Every one should be totally dedicated to the party and get involved with the membership drive," he advised.

Deshpande reminded the party activists that if they have any problems, they should raise the same within the internal system and not to make public statements. However, there is no restriction to issue statements that support party organization, about the development schemes the party took up when in power and criticism of the BJP government, he explained.

"This is the first divisional level workshop, organized with an eye on organizational stregthening. Similar workshops will be conducted at Raichur, Bangalore and Mysore within a couple of weeks," he informed. He also called upon party leaders and office bearers to take part in district-wise discussions and come forth with their problems without any hesitation.
