Mangalore: Kumpala Murder Case, Accused in Remand Home, Prime Accused Arrested

Mangalore, Dec 29: The policemen, who have been on a hunt for Hemavathi alias Lilly, foster daughter of KMC employee Goerge Paul and her husband Babu, have succeeded in nabbing Lilly and Babu after a prolonged search operation. Goerge Paul had been killed on December 21 presumably on property matters by the couple.

Lilly is said to have confessed during the police interrogation, that her husband had committed the murder. The policemen have since arrested Babu, a native of Tamilnadu, after an extensive search. .  Although initially the policemen had suspected Lilly to be equally guilty in the crime, now they feel that she had no role to play in the old man's murder. She has reportedly agreed to be the prime prosecution witness in the case.

She was produced in the court. As she is pregnant, the court has sent her to remand home, the policemen said.They are yet to extract full information from Babu.
