M'lore: Sri Nandikeshwara Nataka Sangh set to Celebrate Silver Jubilee on Jan 12

Mangalore, Jan 9: Sri Nandikeshwar Nataka Sangh is all set to celebrate 25 years of its eventful existence at the Town Hall here on Monday January 12 at 4 pm.

Sri Nandikeshwara Nataka Sangh is the only professional drama troupe to take shape from among the three coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod. Around 60 artistes of ‘Nandikeshwara’ team have now been involved with the Kannada film industry and the small screen. The Sangh has staged over 30 plays so far,  said P B Rai, owner of the Sangh, speaking at a  press conference held in the city on Thursday January 8.

Ganesh Rao, founder president, Karavali College group of educational institutions, will inaugurate the function. Krishna J Palemar, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, will preside.

Harikrishna Punaroor, former president, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Sanjeev Dandekeri, cine director, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, drama director, Dalavai, deputy director, Kannada and culture  department, K N Krishna Bhat, member, Badiyadka gram panchayat, Dinesh, owner, M P Family Shop, U K Khader, Evergreen suppliers will also be  participating in the silver jubilee celebrations as  chief guests.

A Ramanat Alse Airody will be felicitated on the occasion.

Later, a popular play, ‘Mudukana Maduve,' will be staged. Entry to the function is open to all and free of cost, he explained.

Rahavendra Rai was present at the press conference.
