Udupi, Jan 9: The  body of the missing picnicking student Bhavin at Kaup beach was recovered by local fishermen about 2 kilometers away in the Arabian Sea, here on Friday January 9 afternoon.

It may be recalled that the local fishermen rescued 5 picnicking students when they screamed for help on Thursday January 8 afternoon, as they were on the verge of perishing  in the rough seas.  Their picnic went berserk with the tragedy of losing one of their dear colleagues.

The father of Bhavin arrived here from Gujarat on Friday January 9, to take custody of his son's mortal remains in order to perform the final rites.

I salute the brave "mogaveeras" who rescued five youngsters endangering their own lives. My condolences to the family of the unfortunate student. May his death teach lessons on safety to our youngsters who play with death disregarding safety norms. Young life, for that matter any life, is precious for any parent to lose. What a loss!
