Udupi, Jan 10: A function to release the English translation of ‘Kenopanishat’ authored by Arya Dharawad, was held at the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math here on Friday January 9.

The book 'Kenopanishat' happens to be  the English translation of Kannada literary work, 'Talavakaropanishat' by Bannanje Govindacharya.

Speaking after releasing the book, Sri Sugunendra Teerta Swamiji of  Paryaya Puttige  Math said that the English translation of the book will go a long way in disseminating the philosophy of ‘Vedas’ to the people from around the globe.

The summary of every epic must be available to all the people, as they help the common people to gain access to this distinguished knowledge and enrich their own understanding of the philosophies. Hence, efforts must be made to see that the work reaches the common people, he said.

Encouraging the authors engaged in bringing out such works,  the Swamiji wanted that the  works like 'Dashopanishat' should be made available in both Kannada and English languages in the coming days.

T Sitaram, who has provided financial assistance for the book, was present on the occasion.
