Mangalore, Jan 13: A person said to be mentally ill drove a parked bus and knocked down a motorcycle-borne couple at Maradka near Kinnigoli on Monday.
According to sources, the person identifed as Prashanth (17) drove a parked bus at Kateel when the driver had gone to have tea.
As the members of the public realised that the bus driver was not driving the bus, a few followed the bus in private vehicles. By the time the public could reach the bus, the ‘driver’ had knocked down a motorcycle-borne couple at Maradka near Kinnigoli.
Though Prashanth tried to give a slip to the chasing public, the public managed to catch him and hand over to the police. The injured couple have been identified as Sachin Kotian and Akshitha.
