Mangalore, Feb 7: Orchid Art Gallery, located on the second floor of Hemavati Building, Balmatta, will be inaugurated by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza at 11.00 am on Sunday February 8.

Justice M F Saldanha, retired judge, Karnataka High Court, renowned artist Peter Lewis, and Fr Denis D’Sa, will be the guests of honour.

The gallery is a meeting place for artists and art connoisseurs, and aims to serve and stimulate the cultural life of the region in the fields of literature, music, and art.  Since its inception two years ago, the gallery has been undertaking searches for hidden artistic talent in the region and has succeeded immensely.

‘Mirror of Mind’, is an inaugural group show by three artists from Delhi—Arnab Mitra, Deb Dulal Dutta, and Shushnato Chattopaday.  Each of them represents a genre that is unique and new to the city.  Orchid Art Gallery hopes that the show will bridge the north and south divide.  The show which will have 25 exhibits will be the first North Indian art show in the city.
