Mangalore: Traditional ‘Keddasa’ to be Celebrated in City

Mangalore, Feb 9: The celebration of 'Keddasa', a Tulu folk festival, will be held at Town Hall on Monday February 9 at 4 pm.

The event is being organized by the state Tulu Sahitya Academy in association with the union of Taluk Mahila Mandals.

Krishna J Palemar, district in-charge minister, will inaugurate the programme.

Vijayalakshmi B Shetty, president, Taluk Mahila Mandals, will perform  the 'Bhoomi Puja' of Keddasa Celebration.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Shakila Kava, deputy mayor, Mangalore City Corporation and Harikrishna Punaroor, former president, district Kannada Sahitya Parishat will paticipate in the function..

D Pushpavati, lecturer, government pre-university college, will deliver a  lecture on 'Keddasa'.

Paltady Pamakrishna Achar, president, State Tulu Sahitya Academy, will preside over the function.
