Mangalore, Feb 11: The body of a man was found in river Shambhavi near Vijaya College here on Tuesday February 10. The deceased has been identified as Babu Poojary (65) from Karitota Manampady here.
It is gathered that he consumed liquor in a local wine shop on the evening of Monday February 10, before going back. There are marks in the sand on the river bank which indicate that someone had dragged his body along the bank before dumping it into the river.
The police have already interrogated a man in this connection. Mulky circle inspector Paramehwar Hegde visited the spot and initiated investigation.
