Udupi, Oct 24: Sand mounds are being vacated at riversides after obtaining permission, except in CRZ and non CRZ areas in Udupi.

Sand may be used in Udupi by owners of buildings under construction and contractors as per the requirements of construction after obtaining permit for sand transportation. The district administration has decided to take stern action against people indulging in unauthorized hoarding of sand.

Senior scientist of geology and member secretary in a news release warned of strict action against unauthorized hoarding of sand by owners of buildings under construction, contractors or people.
