Udupi, Oct 24: Sri Vishveshateertha Swamiji, head of Pejawar Math here, had recently undertaken pilgrimage of north India.

During his visit to Badrinath temple, the Swamiji found it impossible to cover a small part of the journey on foot because of oxygen shortage. He therefore was compelled to undertake a 300-metre hike on Doli, which is a kind of palanquin service offered to pilgrims who are weak or aged.

This video has now become viral. The Swamiji had reached Badri from Dehradun by helicopter on October 14. From Anantha Math, which falls under Pejawar Math, he travelled 300 metres to the bridge across River Alakananda by car. From there, he walked about 300 metres to the temple. After having the darshan of the Lord, he walked 300 metres on return journey. He suffered from oxygen shortage and found it impossible to keep walking further. A volunteer there who always serves the Swamiji during his visits there, immediately arranged to get the Swamiji seated on the Doli and carried him to the Pejawar Math that is about 300 metres away.
