Kasargod: 12-year-old girl dies after train hits her at Uppala

Kasargod, Oct 26: Manjusha (12), resident of Uppal Sharada Nagar, who was a seventh standard student of Uppal government school, died after a train hit her when crossing the railway tracks at Uppal. This tragic incident happened on the evening of Thursday, October 24. 

Manjusha was the daughter of Manoj, a tipper truck driver by profession. On Thursday, after school hours, she had returned home. After that, she had accompanied her grandmother who was on a visit to the downtown, to cross the railway tracks. When crossing the tracks, a train that was moving towards Chennai from Mangaluru knocked her down, causing her instant death. 

The girl was studious and very good in extracurricular activities, sports, and art festivals in which she had won several prizes, it is gathered.
