Puttur swimmer Ankith Gowda qualifies for national level swimming

Puttur, Oct 26: Ankith Gowda, a swimmer from Puttur Aquatic Club, won three silver medals in the School Games State level swimming competition conducted by the Saarwajanika Shikshana Illakae at Basavanagudi Swimming Pool, Bengaluru, on October 14.

Ankith, a 10th standard student of Sudana Residential school, Puttur won silver medals in 50, 100 and 200 metres breaststroke in the under 17 age group. He will be representing Karnataka Swimming team at the National level School games Swimming Championship to be held at Delhi from November 16 to 22, later this year.

He is being trained by coaches Partha Varanashi, Niroop, Rohit and Yagnesh. Ankith trains at Dr Shivarama Karantha Swimming Pool, Puttur and at St Aloysius Swimming Pool, Mangaluru. He is the son of Nalinaksha N and Gayathri.
