Bengaluru, Oct 26: In a gory incident which happened within the limits of Mahadevapura police station here, a rowdy sheeter was chased and hacked to death with a sword in full view of the people on Friday October 25.

The murdered man was a rowdy element named Manjunath alias Manju (28). His name has been recorded as rowdy sheeter in Marathhalli police station. Manjunath was moving in his Royal Enfield motor bike when the killers seated in a Dio scooty chased him, caught hold of him near Phoenix Mall on ITPL Road, chased him around with sharp weapons in hand, and hacked him to death. They also threw away a sword on his body before leaving.

Mahadevapura police visited the spot and undertook verification. Manjunath was residing at Kadabeesanahalli within Marathhalli police station limits. It is learnt that Manjunath had a woman on the pillion of the motor bike when three people seated in a Dio scooty attacked him.

It is said that sometime back, Manjunath, along with Somu, had murdered a person identified as Rohit's brother. It is guessed that this death was in the form of revenge of the previous killing.

Whitefield deputy commissioner of police, Anuchet, stated that Rohit is currently inside the prison being an accused in a murder case. He added that a case has been registered and probe has begun.
