Udupi, Oct 27: A portion of the kitchen of Hangout Restaurant of Manipal near here got gutted in fire on the night of Saturday, October 26 due to electrical short circuit. The personnel of the restaurant were working when the mishap took place but luckily no one is hurt. The fire service personnel arrived on the spot and quickly extinguished the fire.
The fire broke out in the kitchen of the restaurant at around 7.30 pm. Many of the kitchen items were gutted in the fire. The total loss is estimated to be more than Rs three lac. This information was given to Daijiworld media by Ilyas, manager of the restaurant.
The customers in the restaurant were immediately sent out to prevent any loss of life or burn injury. The personnel of the hotel tried their level best to bring the fire under control by spraying water. However, when the fire did not come under control, fire service personnel were called. The fire service personnel successfully contained the fire and prevented any further damage.
