Belagavi, Oct 29: Union minister Suresh Angadi ridiculed the Congress party and said that the present day Congress party is not the old one, but Italian Congress.

Speaking to the scribes in the city on Tuesday, October 29, Suresh Angadi said, "No one is a friend or foe in politics. Today Siddaramaiah might be in Congress. But in olden times, Siddaramaiah became leader by criticizing the Congress party.

"Siddaramaiah used to ridicule the Congress of Mahatma Gandhi. But later he joined Italian Congress led by Sonia Gandhi. Let Siddaramaiah introspect himself in this matter. The present day Congress is not the real Congress. When we think of the sacrifice and martyrdom of the people who were in the old Congress, the present day Congress looks like just Italian Congress.

"Be it CM Yediyurappa, former CM Kumaraswamy or I, we are not politicians playing on caste. Some politicians are using caste for their political mileage. But people have become intelligent now. No one gets fooled by the caste. The public is saying that country is first than the caste."
