Congress Protest:

Meanwhile, the District Congress Committee (DCC) protested against the failures of the state government in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue near Town Hall.

Ramanath Rai, president, DCC, said that the state government is neglecting poor people and farmers. “Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa speaks about farmers but their problems have not been solved. Issuing of ration cards is also not done properly”, he added.

“State government is also not utilizing the funds released by the union government”, said Rai adding that the BJP does not know to rule and said it should awaken from the hangover of power before people begin to agitate in anger.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Kodijal Ibrahim, and Mamatha Gatti were present.
