Mangaluru, Feb 25: MLA D Vedavyas Kamath laid the foundation stone for the drainage work worth Rs 15 lac in Maroli ward.

He claimed that the local leaders had explained the problems due to artificial floods faced by Maroli village residents during monsoons. “The first stage of grants is released with the intention that retaining wall on both the sides of the drainage may be effective," Kamath said.

“The intended work can be completed with the current grant and the wall can be constructed in the remaining stretch by providing additional grant next time. Several development works need to be undertaken in the vicinity. Full cooperation will be provided for the development in Maroli ward,” he added.

“We have a huge responsibility to take Mangaluru south constituency towards development. Therefore, development in every ward will pave the way for all-round development of Mangaluru. While that is our intent, the cooperation from everybody is valuable,” Kamath maintained.

Local corporator Keshava Maroli, BJP leader Kiran Maroli, Jagannath Adumaroli, Jagannath Shenoy, Prashanth, Sarala, Malati, Devappa, Sathish Bajjodi, Bhoja Ameen, Raghu, locals Ranjith Maroli, Sushanth Papumane, Vidya, Balakrishna Suvarna and others were present.
