Chitradurga: Mother immerses child in water before ending life

Chitradurga, Feb 26: A lady from Ainahalli in Holalkere taluk in the district, for some strange reason, killed her one-year-old son by immersing him in a water drum, before ending her own life. This senseless incident happened on Monday.

Ashabai (25) hanged herself after killing her son. The child's naming ceremony was to take place on Wednesday. The couple had together distributed invitation cards relating to this ceremony to friends and relatives.

It is said that Ashabai has left behind a death note, contents of which are unknown as yet. A case relating to these deaths was registered at Chikkajajur police station.
