Mangaluru, Feb 27: MLA U T Khader condemned the statement made by Vijayapura MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal who called centenarian H S Doreswamy a 'Fake freedom fighter who behaves like Pakistan agent.'

Addressing media here on Thursday, February 27, U T Khader said, "These days the BJP is severely criticizing freedom fighters, right from Mahatma Gandhi to presently Doreswamy, who has been called a ‘fake freedom fighter’. BJP leaders are mocking the freedom struggle and thereby revealing the party's hidden agenda.

"BJP is severely affected by ‘Pakistan virus’ which has no medicine in India. To cure them, we should send BJP to Pakistan. Those who mock India’s freedom struggle and deliver such statements are traitors.

"BJP should state their stand regarding the statement made by MLA Yatnal. BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and chief minister Yediyurappa need to give clarity regarding the same. We strongly condemn it.

"The objective behind delivering such statements is so that the opposition does not get a chance to speak about the failures of the state government during the budget session. Therefore, they raise such statements and conduct discussions on it," he said.

Responding to Delhi violence, Khader said, "The state and central government have failed to bring the situation under control. Home minister Amith Shah and chief minister Aravind Kejriwal are directly responsible for it and both should submit their resignation."
