Bengaluru, Apr 17: A complaint made against Jubilant Generics Ltd at Nanjangud in Mysuru district relating to several of its employees suffering from coronavirus infection has now been receiving the attention of the state high court.

The convener of an NGO, 'Save Nanjangud Forum', had written a letter to the high court registrar general relating to this incident. On Thursday, April 16 a bench chaired by Chief Justice A S Oka said that the letter will be treated as public interest litigation and it will be taken up for hearing on April 21.

Over 25 coronavirus infection cases have been confirmed in Nanjangud so far. During the period coronavirus was at its peak in China in December 2019, a container from that country had reached here. Representatives of several multinational companies too visited the factory. The petitioner, therefore, has urged the high court to order subjecting people living in the entire Nanjangud town to coronavirus test.
