Chikkodi, May 14: A school teacher in Chikkodi taluk behaved indecently with some Class 7 girl students. Deputy director of public instruction (DDPI) of the district Gajanan Mannikeri, has issued an order, suspending him with immediate effect.
The girl students of the school had, in a written complaint made to the education department, accused the teacher of behaving indecently with them and sexually harassing them. The DDPI stated that after examining the complaint, the teacher was suspended from service for violating Karnataka Civil Service rule 3(1).
Similar complaints had earlier been made against the teacher in question. But no one had dared to file official complaint and hence he could save his skin. Now the girl students have given a written complaint against the teacher as a result of which the department took some action.
