Sullia: Illegal slaughterhouse raided, two arrested, 40 kg beef confiscated

Sullia, May 16: After getting information that an illegal slaughterhouse was being operated at Umikkala near Mastikatte within Bellare police station limits on Friday May 15, the police personnel from Bellare station raided the spot. During the raid, two accused were arrested.

The arrested men have been identified as Haris Muhammed Sinan and Ummer Farooq.

The police were tipped about cows being slaughtered under a tree at Mastikatte. They confiscated about 40 kg beef, hatchet, knife and other equipment used to cut meat from the spot

During the raid, two of the accused, Salam and Hyderali, succeeded in running away. The police are now making efforts to arrest them. A case relating to the incident was filed in Bellare police station.
