Moodbidri, Jun 16: A car and a tipper collided with each other on Monday June 15 near Matadakere in Beluvai near here. In this accident, the person who was driving the car lost his life.
The deceased has been identified as Sadananda Poojary (52) from Jodukatte in Karkala taluk. Sadananda had attended a function organized at the residence of his relative at Beluvai along with his wife. When the couple was returning from Beluvai by their car, a tipper which came from the direction of Karkala collided with the car.
Sadananda, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, breathed his last at a hospital sometime later. A case relating to this accident was registered at Moodbidri police station.
