Mangaluru, Jun 16: A person who was found to have stolen a scooter and was using it by changing the number plate, was taken into custody by Barke police. The arrested accused happens to be Sampath Rao, a resident of car street here.
The police were patrolling the streets when a person who came in a scooter near Empire Mall was stopped by them. The man tried to flee from there. Out of suspicion, the police gave him a hot chase and caught hold of him. He then revealed that the scooter he was riding was stolen from Kadri. He had changed its number plate to avoid getting caught.
