Byndoor, Jun 17: The case of the alleged assault on a village accountant by a medical officer here, recently came to a logical end on Wednesday after village accountant Anjanappa apologised.

The association of village accountants had demanded the apology by Dr Mahendra Shetty in the case earlier. Therefore, Dr Mahendra Shetty had apologised in the presence of the sub divisional officer then. Dr Mahendra Singh had complained to the deputy commissioner subsequent to it that he was defamed after the incident was made viral on social media. Thereafter, the incident got revived. The assistant commissioner was directed to sort out the issue.

A meeting of village accountants and doctors was held today under the leadership of the assistant commissioner. Office bearers of government employees association and medical employee’s association members took part in it.

Village accountant, Anjanappa regretted his actions and apologised on the occasion. “The case reached a logical end after the apology,” said government medical officer’s association Udupi chapter president, Prakash Shetty.
