Bengaluru, Jul 17: Accusations are being heard that many politicians of the state of Karnataka are not following social distancing norms and not wearing masks also. The state high court has considered this seriously and has passed an order to take strict action against the politicians, who violate coronavirus pandemic rules.

The high court bench comprising of chief justice of high court A S Oka and justice Nagaprasanna has taken out this order. This opinion was given by the two-member bench during the inquiry of the PIL submitted by lawyers Puttige Ramesh and G R Mohan.

The PIL moved by the two lawyers said, "Politicians of the state are not maintaining social distance. They are not wearing masks during social functions."

The applicants mentioned the wedding ceremony of Parameshwara Nayak of Ballari. It was mentioned in the PIL that health minister Sriramulu took part in the programme. All the guidelines sent by the central government is thrown to air in the particular programme. During the inauguration of statue of Kempegowda also the same violation of Covid rules has taken place, accused the applicants in their PIL.

Acting upon the PIL, the high court bench passed an order that strict action under the Disaster Management Act should be taken against anyone, however influential he or she is if they violate the Covid protocol.
