Mangaluru: Additional 300 oxygen equipped beds for Covid hospitals – MLA Kamath

Mangaluru, Jul 17: “It is decided to equip the Wenlock hospital with an additional 300 beds with oxygen facilities,” said MLA Vedavyas Kamath.

Kamath was speaking on the matter following a video conference with deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayan held at the deputy commissioner’s office. Talking about actions being taken to curb the spread of the virus, the MLA stated that in the discussions with the DCM, 300 extra beds would be provided to Wenlock hospital along with 30 beds to every taluk hospital. “It has been also decided to provide oxygen facilities to the beds at the community hall and primary health centres," Kamath maintained.

"Over 150 beds are already available in Wenlock hospital. The process of providing oxygen facilities to an additional 300 beds will be completed soon. The move is taken to prevent scarcity of oxygen to people in the future,” the MLA said.

District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Harish Poonja, deputy commissioner and additional deputy commissioner, assistant commissioner, district health officer, district medical officer and others were present in the video conference with deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayan.
