Uppinangady, Jul 17: In a shocking incident, a ten-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging. The incident happened at Kedagedadi, Hirebandadi village here on Thursday, July 16. The deceased child is identified as Priya, daughter of Kedagedadi resident Balachandra.

The girl, who got annoyed after her mother scolded her for not tying her hair, went to the toilet and locked herself in. As seen did not return for a long time, the people in the house went in search for her. They soon found her body hanging in the toilet.

A police case in this regard has been registered in Uppinangady police station.
