Udupi, Jul 17: The people of primary contacts and those who have arrived from abroad are being kept in home quarantine as per government guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.

The government has directed authorities to take action under requisite Acts against those who violate these home quarantine regulations. Those who have been placed in home quarantine are being monitored by the officials every day with the help of the Home Quarantine Watch App. They have been also asked to upload their selfie. Meanwhile, the authorities have been tracking down the violators scientifically through the Quarantine Geo-Fencing Breach. Over 11 FIRs are already registered against people who have flouted the laws.

Taluk tahsildars, executive officials and the flying squad have been directed to take stern action against the violators, said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.
