Udupi, Jul 20: 'Raksha Nayak has not allowed her physical deformity to dampen her spirits. Her achievements should become an inspiration for other students," said Yashpal Suvarna,

Suvarna, who happens to be the president of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Cooperative Fish Marketing Federation, was speaking after handing over Rs 25,000 to Raksha Nayak as a token of appreciation for her achievement, at her residence at Bommarabettu, Hiriadka in the taluk on Sunday July 19. Raksha has scored 93 percent marks in the second PU science stream.

"The girl student does not have control over the movement of her right hand and right leg since her childhood. She wrote her answer sheets with her left hand and thereby showed that willpower can overcome any obstacle. Let her achievements spur others like her to set high goals in life and achieve them. I wish that her future in the educational field would be excellent," he stated.

He handed over a cheque for Rs 25,000 to help her pursue her further education.

Taluk panchayat member, Sandhya Kamath, district BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary, Akshith Shetty Herga, district vice president of Hindu Yuva Sene, Shekhar Shetty, social worker, Neeta Prabhu, Prashanth and others were present.
