Kundapur: Business down due to lockdown, man commits suicide

Kundapur, Jul 20: A man committed suicide as his business had closed down due to the lockdown imposed in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Nitish (31), son of Latha Prabhakar Shetty, resident of Giliyaru village in Brahmavar taluk near Rajashekhara temple and younger brother of Nithin Shetty, is the person, who killed himself.

Nitish was doing second-hand car dealing business in Bengaluru. The business was closed down due to the lockdown and he had come to his native place and was at home without any work.

On the night of July 18, all the family members except Nitish had dinner and went to bed. Nitish did not have dinner with them. The family members thought that he might have his dinner later and went to bed. When they got up in the morning, they saw the dead body of Nitin hanging in the house.

It is suspected that Nitish must have committed suicide in the intervening period of 10 pm of July 18 to 4 am of July 19 due to loss suffered in business or any other personal reason.

A case in this connection is registered with the Kota police station.
