Bantwal: Former district panchayat member S Abbas passes away at 69

Bantwal, Jul 20: Former member of district panchayat, Congress party leader and leader of several religious organizations, S Abbas has passed away at the age of 69 on Monday evening after suffering from a brief illness.

He was a sincere activist of the Congress party and also served as the district panchayat standing committee president, mandala panchayat president and gram panchayat president.

He has also served in several religious organizations. He was Sajipanadu Central Juma Masjid president for several years along with being the Bantwal taluk Jamat and district Madrasa management president.

He maintained a good rapport with people of all the religions. He is survived by wife, two sons, three daughters and a large number of friends and relatives.

Several Congress party leaders, panchayat officials and religious leaders have expressed their condolences on his demise.
