Udupi, Jul 24: Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha has directed concerned officials to make all the necessary arrangements including taking coronavirus related safety precautions for CET examinations scheduled on July 30 and 31.

Presiding over a meeting regarding CET examination arrangements held in the DC office auditorium on Friday, he said that 3,912 students will appear for CET examinations in 10 examination centres in the district. The DC asked PU department officials to adhere to all the guidelines released by the health department. “Sanitize rooms completely before and after the examinations, deploy staff for thermal scanning, maintain social distance with the help of rangers and rovers, arrange separate rooms for students with coronavirus symptoms and those arriving from containment zones,” he said.

“There is no need for subjecting students coming from other states to quarantine. Register their details and obtain clarifications from tahsildar about their return to their states after the examinations,” he said.

“Officials assigned to distribute question papers should obtain them from the treasury on time, distribute them in police security and deposit them back in the treasury after the examinations. The examination centres should be provided with adequate police security. KSRTC officials should run a sufficient number of buses so that students may reach on time maintaining social distance.”

“Officials assigned for examination work should work in coordination to prevent lapses,” he said.

Additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu, all the tahsildars, PU department deputy director Bhagavantha Kattemani, DDPI’s Sheshanayana Karinja and various department officials assigned for examination work were present.
