Udupi, Jul 25: Saligrama, Kundapur resident reptile lover Sudheendra Aithal here on Saturday, the festival of Nagara Panchami, provided treatment to an injured cobra, fed it milk and is taking care of it at home after offering puja.

The snake was injured by a JCB during construction work. He said that snakes are harmless, helpful to farmers and it is necessary to take care of them. He said that he lives near the temple in Saligrama and has been rescuing snakes for the last 35 years. He said that he performed puja to the snake so that people may not fear cobras. He added that he had rescued another poisonous snake that was severely injured near his residence about one and a half years ago.
